day 8: Monday June 22—Cayber
There was potential for sunshine and I was hopeful with this morning view. We were headed back for a landing in Mushamna where we were yesterday. It's that strip of land on the right in the above picture.
When we got to shore, I didn't wander far from our landing site. We found the remains of last night's bonfire so Sally brought it back to life as it was a mighty chilly morning. Ayo helped her and Melissa did some documenting. When the fire was going, I assisted Ayo in collecting sound recordings of it. His furry microphone doubled as a warm hat for me!
After Sally had a listen, Snowflake got a chance to hear some of the strange sounds he had captured so far and tried to guess what made them.
I spent some time talking with Sally about her job before Snowflake and I set off collecting. She prefers being a guide on longer trips (like the two weeks with us!) compared to ones she describes as with FB travellers.
A few things she shared with me about her work.
