day 6: Saturday June 20 morning—Snowball
Cayber joined us after breakfast whilst we waited to board the zodiac to land at Hornbækpollen. We made our way around and up through some deep snow to get to Sally sitting on the adjacent hilltop. We spotted her easily with her fluorescent vest. We came across interesting shaped rocks, flowers and bones on the way up. | Before heading off to explore, we waited for everyone to arrive on land and Aurora to tell us where the safe zone at this site was. It was quite a large area with many vantage points on hilltops. |
Siobhan was nearby holding this. Snowglobe? Crystal ball? Cayber had a closer look and turns out she's experimenting with a heliograph. This one is similar to a sunshine recorder. She's trying to focus the sunlight to burn marks onto paper she puts around the glass orb. Too many clouds today though. I had a look at some of her previous art and particularly liked her short film Elemental. |
Bye now,
Snowball
